The Twin Cities Takeover is the Guerrilla Girls’ largest collaboration with a community to date, and it was bananas. From January – March 2016, people attended events at big museums, small galleries and other locales—from free and teen-friendly events and exhibitions to performances and parties around town.
As “artists in residence,” the Guerrilla Girls made various appearances around the metro area the weeks of January 18 and February 29, culminating with a performance at the State Theatre on March 5. Some of the scheduled events they attended are marked below.
With the Takeover events completed, you can still get in touch with your inner Guerrilla Girl by visiting their exhibition at the Walker, open now until the end of the year.
